Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statements
English Research and Literacy Journal is a national-best partnered journal published twice a year in print and online by Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Pedadogi dan Psikologi, Universitas Wiranegara Pasuruan. This statement explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing articles in the English Research and Literacy Journal, including authors, editorial boards, reviewers, and publishers. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Publishing Code of Conduct
Publishing articles in the English Research and Literacy Journal is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of work of the authors and the institutions that support them. The articles reviewed support and contain scientific methods. Therefore, it is important to agree on standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in publishing, namely: authors, journal editors, partners, publishers, and the public.
Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Pedadogi dan Psikologi, Universitas Wiranegara Pasuruan as the publisher of English Research and Literacy Journal is responsible for overseeing all stages of publication in earnest and recognizes ethical and other responsibilities. In addition to being committed to ensuring that reprint advertisements and other commercial revenues do not have an impact or influence on editorial decisions, they are also committed to assisting with communication with journal managers and / or other publishers if deemed useful and necessary.
Decision of Issuance
English Research and Literacy Journal is responsible for deciding which articles to submit must be published. The validation of the work and its significance for researchers and readers must always drive the decision. Editors can be guided by the policies of the journal editing board and limited by legal provisions as they must be upheld regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editor can negotiate with other editors or the assessment team in making this decision.
Editors always evaluate texts based on their intellectual content regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship or political philosophy of the writers.
Editors and editing staff may not disclose any information about the manuscript submitted to anyone other than the writer, expert editor, partner, and publisher.
Notification and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished material that is revealed in the submitted manuscript may not be used in the research of the editor himself without the express written consent of the author.
Obligations of the Assessment Team
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
The assessment of partners helps the editor in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with the writer can also help the writer perfect his writing.
Any selected evaluator who feels that he does not meet the qualifications to assess the research reported in a manuscript or knows that a quick review will not be able to inform the editor and free himself from the assessment process.
Every text received for evaluation must be treated as a confidential document. The document must not be shown or discussed with anyone unless authorized by the editor.
The assessment must be carried out objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not justified. Assessors must state their views clearly with supporting arguments.
